Segment #1: The Reality of Transformation
Before we dive into these inspiring stories, let's take a moment to talk about what transformation really looks like. For many lawyers, it's not about working harder or taking on more clients—it's about working differently.
Because here's the cold hard facts: A survey of 3,000 young lawyers (aged 40 and under) revealed that 20% are considering leaving the legal profession entirely within the next five years. That's almost one in five lawyers walking away from the career they once dreamed about.
And if that wasn't shocking enough, here's some other stats:
A survey conducted in New Jersey found that 28% of lawyers considered leaving the profession due to mental health issues, burnout, or stress. This survey highlighted that nearly half of the respondents reported moderate to high levels of burnout, with many feeling anxious or isolated.
According to a report by the International Bar Association, more than 50% of young lawyers globally are likely to consider quitting their current jobs within the next five years. This reflects increasing pressures faced by junior talent in the legal industry.
Stop and think about that for a moment; more than half of young lawyers aren't finding the fulfillment they deeply desire.
And finally, a survey by the Florida State Bar revealed that nearly 60% of young lawyers expressed discouragement and were contemplating changing careers altogether. Many indicated that their legal careers did not meet their expectations, prompting thoughts of leaving the profession
And anecdotally, I'm in all sorts of lawyer groups where it seems that most lawyers are considering leaving the law altogether.
So I'm here to tell you today, there is another way.
In fact, when you use your law degree in the right way - it's the most valuable asset you have, and you'll be so glad you went to law school.
The lawyers you'll hear about today didn't solve their struggles by grinding harder—they made simple yet profound shifts that allowed them to achieve work-life balance, financial growth, and professional fulfillment.
Let me introduce you to Stephanie Hon.
Before the New Law Business Model, Stephanie felt like she was spinning her wheels. She was taking on too many low-paying clients just to keep her practice afloat. She was constantly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of work, and the stress of staying above water left her questioning whether she could sustain her practice—or her sanity.
Everything changed when Stephanie embraced the New Law Business Model. She shifted her focus to estate planning and implemented flat-fee pricing, along with her "help your clients choose their own fee/ affordable premium model". This specific strategy gave her clients clarity and empowered her to value her own time & expertise. What's more is that it helped her finally get paid what she's worth and deliver a truly impactful service.
The result?
Stephanie doubled her income while reducing her working hours. For the first time in her career, she had clarity about the value she brought to her clients, control over her schedule, and the confidence to say "no" to cases that weren't aligned with her vision for her practice.
Stephanie's story teaches us that success starts with recognizing the value you bring. But here's the most important part: making that shift doesn't happen on its own.
That's why, once you join the NLBM community, we're going to hold you by the hand and show you exactly how to make these changes. You'll learn how to focus your services on areas that align with your expertise and passions. You'll discover step-by-step strategies for creating flat-fee pricing models that benefit both you and your clients. And you'll see how to set boundaries that protect your time and energy, so you can focus on what truly matters—both in your practice and in your life.
Because the truth is, you don't have to figure this out alone. The tools, templates, and techniques Stephanie used to transform her practice are waiting for you, too. All you need to do is take that first step.
Segment #2: Tools & Strategies That Drive Success
I know what you're thinking: "These stories sound inspiring, Ali, but how do you actually make that leap? How do you turn a practice that's draining you into one that works for you?"
Well, let's break it down together – step by step.
The New Law Business Model isn't just about concepts; it's about practical, proven tools that create real change. Here are three of the most transformative strategies we teach in the NLBM community:
1. The Relational Lawyer Model
This approach shifts your focus from transactions to relationships, helping you build trust-based connections that inspire loyalty. Clients don't just hire you for a single need; they see you as their trusted advisor for life.
2. The Flat-Fee/Affordable Premium Pricing Framework
Say goodbye to tracking billable hours and hello to clarity. Our pricing system is not just about flat fees, it's about fees that your clients choose themselves -- so they feel empowered by the experience of working with you, and they can choose what's best for them
3. Systematized Operations
Imagine running your practice without feeling like you're spinning plates or juggling 5 balls at once. With efficient systems in place, you'll free up your time, scale your efforts, and finally feel in control of your day-to-day.
Let me tell you about Pam Maass Garrett.
Before the New Law Business Model, Pam was a litigator, deeply immersed in a cycle of endless court dates and client disputes. She loved practicing law but felt the constant tug of work pulling her away from her personal life. The long hours, the high stress—it was taking a toll on her family and her health. She wanted balance but had no idea where to start.
She then discovered the tools and strategies in the New Law Business Model and decided to pivot her practice. By focusing on estate planning and applying our relational approach, Pam transformed everything.
Today, 5 years later, she now has a million dollar plus business and over 1.6 million fans on social media brilliantly branded as "Law Mother".
And here's an interesting fact; when Pam first started working with us, it was just her and her husband. These days, she's also the mom of two beautiful little kids. Yes, we even guided her through two successful Maternity Leaves.
Now, you may be sitting there saying to yourself – "How is all of this possible, Ali?"
Well, it's because (with our help) Pam has created a business that aligns with her values, allowing her to spend evenings and weekends with her family. And most importantly, she feels in control— because for the first time in years, she's running her practice instead of her practice running her.
When Pam joined the NLBM community, we held her hand and guided her at every step. She gained access to templates, tools, and the exact systems we've developed to streamline every aspect of her practice. She didn't go it alone.
So here's the big takeaway: Success isn't about working harder; it's about working smarter. When you have the right tools and strategies, you can free up your time, serve your clients better, and finally focus on what matters most—both in your practice and your life.
And that's exactly what we're here to help you do.
But tools and strategies are just one part of the equation. Up next, I'll share another story of transformation — one that proves it's never too late to make a change, no matter how long you've been practicing law. So stay right there and keep on listening.
Segment #3: Your Turning Point
These stories aren't just about the lawyers who've already made the change—they're about you. Think about your own life, your own practice. What could transformation look like if you finally took the first step?
Imagine waking up each morning excited to serve clients who truly value your work, knowing your time is spent on meaningful, purposeful relationships—not an endless grind of transactional tasks. What would it mean to you to feel in control of your practice again, to have both professional success and the personal freedom you deserve?
Now let me share the story of David Kolb, a lawyer who turned his turning point into a breakthrough.
Before the New Law Business Model, David had been practicing law for years, but his practice felt more like a burden than a blessing.
Like so many lawyers, David felt stuck, wondering if this was all his career would ever be. But then David discovered the New Law Business Model and decided it was time to invest in himself and his future.
And within just a year, David made more money while reducing his working hours significantly.
But the most important part? David finally had the freedom to prioritize his personal life—spending evenings and weekends with his loved ones - or just by himself if he wanted. He was finally rekindling the joy that had been missing for years.
David's story is proof that no matter how long you've been practicing or how stuck you might feel, change is possible.
When David joined the NLBM community, he didn't just gain access to tools and templates—he gained a roadmap for transformation and the support of a community that understood his journey.
Here's what I want you to take away: Even if you're at your breaking point, even if you've been practicing for decades, it's never too late to make a change. You don't have to settle for the status quo.
With the right guidance, you can create a practice that reflects your values, serves your clients at the highest level, and gives you the freedom to enjoy your life.
So here's the question a lawyer in your shoes should be asking themselves right now: What's holding you back from taking that first step?
